2019 Teen Summer Reading Program

It’s Showtime at your Library!

The 2019 Summer Reading Program is here! This year’s theme is “Its Showtime at your Library,” and we’ve got a summer reading program designed to get everyone reading.

Teens in 6th-12th grade can participate in our Young Adult Summer Reading Program with a valid West Chicago Public Library card. From June 8th through July 31st, you can register and pick up your reading log at the 2nd floor reference desk, then read in 5-hour increments for prizes and an entry to the grand prize drawing. Don’t forget that any reading counts, including reading for school, reading news, blogs, magazines, and listening to audiobooks.  This year, you can also cross off a star on your reading log for each program you attend.

Rules

  • You or your parent/guardian must have a valid West Chicago Public Library card
  • You must have just finished 6th grade, up to 12th grade to participate
  • Read and track the amount of time you’ve read (and/or programs attended) for prizes

5 Hours: mobile phone wallet

10 hours: water bottle

15 hours: select a YA book and enter the grand prize drawing

Grand prizes are an assortment of $30 gift cards.  After 15 hours, select the gift card you would like to enter the drawing for.  There are 13 grand prizes so your chances are better than ever.

Finishing 15 hours also gets you a VIP badge to our summer reading finale, a viewing of Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse on the library lawn on Thursday, August 1st!

Don’t stop there; every additional 5 hours gets you another entry into the grand prize drawing!
