The West Chicago Public Library District’s Library of Things has been an incredibly popular collection at the library since its creation! The mobile hotspots available through the Library of Things (LoT) has consistently been the most checked out item by all patrons. As part of our continuing Strategic Plan implementation, the library has been consistently expanding the LoT collection to include new resources, more copies of popular resources, and to replace damaged or defective items.
Since October of 2022, the library of things has had over 30 new items added that are now available for patrons to borrow for free! Collections like WCPLD’s Library of Things are great tools for the community as they allow many people to increase their capability through borrowing tools that might be too expensive or too rarely used to justify purchasing. The LoT is just one of the ways WCPLD gives value back to the community. Whether you need some automotive tools to get an idea of what’s wrong with your vehicle before taking it to the mechanic, or you need a soil PH tester for your garden, we’ve got you covered.
