Welcome to the West Chicago Public Library District’s new blog! On this platform, we wanted to take the opportunity to speak a little more directly to our patrons and community about what we do, the services we offer, and how we can help YOU! We know that in this increasingly digital and connected age that you have so many options for how to gather resources, information, and materials. However, we are still of a mind that the library has even MORE resources, information, and materials to offer West Chicago residents, for free, with personal and human service.
We often hear the phrase “I didn’t know you had that” from patrons when we discuss many of the THOUSANDS of resources we make publicly available. The library is so much more than books, we are ready to be your partner and resource in all kinds of situations. We also know that many patrons may be unsure whether there are library resources that could help them with whatever they’re handling. We offer a variety of services from access to museums, one on one computer help, test proctoring, and more! Additionally, we have a host of spaces that are available for the public to use for a variety of purposes! That is to say nothing of the powerful digital databases and online resources the library offers covering a variety of subjects.
We hope to tell you more about these powerful resources and services, and how they could help in your life over the coming months. We know that our collection is large, and the sum of materials we can help you access is effectively unlimited (through Inter-Library Loan and the SWAN Consortium). Through all these channels, we are available to the public to connect you to resources and information to do whatever it is you are doing, better!
